We’ve all watched as Obama’s physical appearance has significantly changed in the five years he’s been in office. And he’s not alone.
Countless presidents before him became old men right before our eyes, and in these photos, you’ll see the stark differences between what they looked like at the beginnings and ends of their terms.
Keep in mind that some of these men only held the position for as little as two years, including John F. Kennedy who was assassinated in 1963, and Warren G. Harding, who took office in 1921 and died suddenly in 1923. Many suffered from illnesses while in office, including F.D.R. and Abraham Lincoln.
